ETA – Electronic Travel Authorization (E Visa India)

 

India Visa can be applied electronically by applicants. The program of E Visa India has been introduced by the Government of India in the year 2014. Initially the E Visa India has been granted for a very short period allowing travelers to enter twice in a calendar year.

Now E Visa India is granted for one month with single entry, one year and five year with multiple entries to travel to India. The number of countries who are been given privilege of getting this E Visa India is above 160.

E Visa India allows applicant to arrive at 28 designated airports and 5 designated sea ports. However the applicant have a choice to exit from any of the ICPS ( Indian Immigration Check Posts)

The process to apply for India E Visa is so easy that applicant can apply for the E Visa online, make payment online. Once the approval is granted applicant receives the approval to their respective email id. Applicant need to print E Visa before travelling and need to carry along with the passport.

1.What are the nationalities eligible to apply for E Visa India?

2.What can be the purpose of travel to apply for E Visa India?

Applicant who have their sole objective as Recreation, sightseeing, meeting friends and relatives, to attend short term yoga program, Business meetings and business purposes, short term medical treatments, as attendant to a e-Medical visa holder, attending conference, seminar or workshop.

 

 

3.What are the passport requirements to apply for E Visa India?

To apply for E Visa India, the passport should have minimum 6 months at the time of travelling to India. Passport should have minimum two blank pages to when travelling to India. Each applicant or each individual should hold a valid international passport to applying for E Visa to India including new born.

 

 

4.Who cannot apply for E Visa India

Applicants who are of Pakistani origin or holding Pakistani Passport will not be eligible to apply for E Visa to India

Applicants who have parents or grand parents who can be either paternal or maternal if born in Pakistan, cannot apply for E Visa to India

Applicants who hold permanent residency in Pakistan are not eligible for applying E Visa for India

Applicants who hold valid Diplomatic/ Official Passport or Laissez-passer are not eligible to apply for E Visa India

Applicants who hold International Identity Document or Temporary Travel Document are not eligible to apply for E Visa to India

Applicants whose name is endorsed on their parent’s passport without having separate passport for themselves to apply for Indian E Visa

 

 

5.What is the validity of e-Visa to India?

The validity of e-Visa India is granted in various validity depending the need of the applicant and the purpose of travel to India.

E-Tourist Visa (01 year / 05 years), the validity is given 365 days / 05 years from the date of approval of E-visa India which allows Multiple entries and continuous stay during each visit not exceeding 90 days except nationals of USA, UK, Canada and Japan. In case of nationals of USA, UK, Canada and Japan, E-visa permits applicant continuously to stay during each visit not exceeding 180 days.
E-Tourist Visa (30 days), the validity will be given 30 days from the date of issue of E Visa. The date of first arrival by the applicant must be between the date of issue and expiry of ETA. Double entries will be granted within the e-Visa validity period stamped on applicant Passport. From the day applicant lands in India, they are permitted to stay up to 30 days with double entries.
E-Business Visa, the validity will be granted for 365 days from the date of grant of E Visa India which has Multiple entries and applicant is allowed a continuous stay during each visit not exceeding 180 days and no registration is required if stay period of less than 180 days. However, if applicant has an intention of staying more than 180 days, then the applicant should get himself/herself registered with the FRRO/FRO concerned (https://indianfrro.gov.in) within two weeks after the expiry of 180 days of his/her arrival in India.
E-Conference Visa, the validity will be given 30 days from the date of arrival in India with Single entry.
E-Medical Visa, the validity will be given 60 days from the date of first arrival in India and triple entry will be allowed within the e-Visa validity period stamped on applicant Passport.
E- Medical Attendant Visa, the validity will be given 60 days from the date of first arrival in India and triple entry will be allowed within the e-Visa validity period stamped on applicant Passport.

 

 

6.When should I apply E Visa to India?

Applicants applying for e-Tourist Visa (01 year / 05 years), e-Business Visa, e-Medical, e-Medical Attendant and e-Conference visa, applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply online minimum 7 days in advance of travel date to India. Such E visa India application can be made 120 days in advance from proposed date of travel.
For e-Tourist Visa to India which has 30 days single entry, applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply online minimum 7 days in advance of the date of arrival. Such E Visa India application can be made 30 days in advance from the travel date
