Malaysia High Commission generally grants six months multiple Entry Malaysia Visa for the residents of Singapore provided the validity of the passport and the validity of the residency pass meets the requirements of the Immigration.
If the validity is lesser than one year, then Malaysia Visa is granted as single entry according to the remaining validity of the passport and the residency pass.
However in few cases granting of Visa Validity might change as per discretion of Malaysian Embassy.

Copy of Work Pass/Work Permit and Validity Page for pass holders using SG Work Pass App with minimum 3 months validity. SG Work Pass App can be downloaded from the App Store or Playstore in mobile. Malaysia visa issued on old passport cannot be transferred to new passport. As and when the passport which has valid visa for Malaysia is cancelled, the visa becomes cancelled automatically. Hence once applicant gets a new passport, new visa for Malaysia has to be applied.
